The 9x4 Spreads of the Grand Tableau
I started learning the Lenormand Grand Tableau with the 8-card spread. Later, I discovered the 9 x 4 spread pattern for myself. It's incredibly practical and symmetrical. The techniques of the Grand Tableau become significantly easier. No additional cards to complicate the correspondence. In my interpretations, the middle row of this spread pattern always represents a profound, often unrecognized theme for the querent. If you imagine this row as a book's fold, you can mentally close the tableau like a book. Which, I find, is a beautiful way to consider the mirroring of the cards. Whether it's an 8-card or 9-card spread in Lenormand, both have their advantages and their charm. Nowadays, I actually switch between spread systems more often. And sometimes, I just let the querent decide based on intuition.
